Schedule time

Day 1
0730 hrs- Depart from your hotel and proceed for your journey to Kinabalu Park. Roughly it takes 1 ½ hour drive through scenic countryside and beautiful mountain range. Upon arrival at Kinabalu Park Head Quarters, register your name at the counter with your I/D or passport for registration. Meet your Mountain guide and collect your lunch box and the climb begins to Mount. Kinabalu rest house (3,323m). Although the climb requires no special skills, it is no means an easy trek and demands at least a basic level of fitness. The ascent takes you through an Upper Montane Forest which graduates to sparsely vegetation, corresponding to the higher altitude and harsher environment. Stop for a packed lunch along the trail and end your day at the rest house. Dinner at Laban Rata Restaurant and overnight accommodation is in dormitories.

Day 2
0230 hrs- Start your conquest begins in wee hours, ahead of the heavy morning mist, to catch the first rays of the sun at early dawn. Low’s Peak (4,095m) is your summit destination for spectacular view of the distant horizon and as far as the eyes can see (weather permitting). Descend back to park headquarter after breakfast, where successful climbers are awarded a certificate. You can get a certificate for RM10 each if you have successfully conquered Mt Kinabalu.
Scenario of your tour
By 6.00 am, you have to be ready at the hotel as that is the appropriate pick up time for you to leave for Kota Kinabalu International airport for your flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival at the Sandakan airport, you will be transferred to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation centre, the world largest sanctuary. There you can see how the rangers rehabilitate the Orang Utan to return to their habitat. According to the rangers, some of the Orang Utans are rarely seen while others make occasional visits to the centre and at the feeding platform. Watch their naughty acts as they try to snatch each others food. Also watch the scheduled video documentary show at the Sepilok Information building. This 20 minutes video show gives you an insight of the Orang Utan rehabilitation process and its threats to survival.

After your morning affair with the Orang Utan, you will depart overland for a two hour journey to Sukau. On arrival, you have to check-in at Proboscis lodge before you will have your lunch. In the late afternoon, your tour will proceed to the Menanggol river cruise, a tributary of Kinabatangan river in search for wildlife including the unique Proboscis monkeys, hornbills, kingfisher and many others. The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the best places in Southeast Asia to observe wildlife. After the cruise, dinner will be served. Your tour of the day will end with your overnight stay at Menanggol Lodge Sukau.

Day1
0830 hrs- Depart from the hotel lobby and proceed to Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia’s 1st World Heritage Site.
The journey takes about 2 hours through scenic countryside and beautiful mountain range. A brief stop at Nabalu town gives an opportunity to look at the local villagers selling their local produce & handicraft. An excellent place for one of the best views of the Mt. Kinabalu without any obstruction. Upon arrival at Kinabalu Park, join a guided walk at the Mountain Garden which has a showcase of the diverse plants life on the mountain, as flora from all over the Park has been replanted here. Lunch at Kundasang restaurant. Later, trek at one of the many trails at the Park, listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature’s plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimated 4,500 species of plants which includes 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies. Check in at the Kinabalu Park/Kundasang Resort and settled down for an overnight stay.

Day2
After breakfast, depart for another natural wonder, the Poring Hot Spring located about 47 km from Kinabalu Park. Poring named after the local bamboo plant that is abundant in that area is a natural spring where the hot sulfurous water emits from the ground. Take a dip in this outdoor Japanese style bathtub which is believed to have medicinal value to skin. Climb up to the 41 meters high canopy walkway, where the suspension bridges are suspended from the Mengaris tree (Koompassia Excelsa) – the King of the Forest. From the canopy, take a monkey eye view for a better appreciation of the tropical rainforest. Another optional activity would be to trek up until Langanan waterfall and enjoy the cool rich natural mineral water fall with serene surrounding. Return to BKI/Hotel or transfer directly to Kota Kinabalu International airport.

The islands fine white sandy beach provides an idyllic place to relax, swim and enjoy the peace and serenity of this uncrowned tropical paradise.
