Scenario of your tour
The Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre was set up in 1964 to rehabilitate orphaned baby orang utan. The centre is manage under the administration of the Wildlife Department of Sabah and it is set on 4,300-hectare Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve and attracts tourists and researchers alike, giving a great opportunity to witness the orang utan live up close in their natural habitat. The boardwalk in the centre will lead you to a viewing gallery and feeding platform where Orang Utans are fed with fresh milk and bananas twice a day at 10.00am and 3.00pm. Feeding time also attracts the long-tailed macaques to the area for some food.

The Kinabatangan River is located in the eastern part of Sabah, Borneo Malaysia. It is the second longest river in Malaysia, with a length of 560 km from its headwaters in the mountains of southwest Sabah, to its outlet at the Sulu Sea, east of Sandakan. Kinabatangan is well known for its remarkable wildlife and fascinating habitats such as limestone caves at Gomantong hill, dryland dipterocarp forests, riverine forest, freshwater swamp forest, oxbow lakes and salty mangrove swamps near the coast.

Day 1
Depart from Kota Kinabalu for Sandakan (MH2042 @ 0710 hrs/ AK 6092 @ 0705 hrs). Meet by our guide at the Sandakan airport and proceed to the jetty for a boat ride (1 hrs 15 mins) to Selingan Turtle Islands Park. Check-in at island’s rest house & relax before lunch at 12 pm. Free at leisure to do either swimming, snorkeling or explore the island until 6 pm. After dinner, be prepared to watch part of the complex life cycle of the turtles as they come ashore for their egg laying. The rangers will then transfer the eggs to the hatchery and later an opportunity to release the newly hatched baby turtles (if any) to the open sea. Overnight at Selingan island rest house.

Day 2
0700 hrs – Return to Sandakan mainland and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness the feeding of the Orang Utan. A boardwalk leads you to a viewing gallery and feeding platform where the Orang Utans are fed milk and bananas twice a day at 1000 hrs and 1500 hrs. Feeding time also attracts long-tailed macaques to the area. Lunch at a local restaurant and journey to the Kinabatangan River which is located at the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary will take approximately 2 hours. Check in at the lodge before embarking on an upriver boat ride to appreciate the many species of Borneo rainforest wildlife. Kinabatangan is known as one of the places on earth where ten primate species are found together, including the orangutan, proboscis monkey and the Bornean gibbon. It is also home to over 250 bird, 50 mammal, 20 reptile species and 1056 plant species. Return to the Lodge for dinner. An optional guided night walks / river cruise to enjoy the wilderness of the jungle right after the dinner. Settle down and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 3
0600 hrs -- A morning river cruise to see more birds and wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out from the lodge. Enroute stop to visit the famed Gomantong Cave, exploring the cave system and to glimpse amazing swift lets’ renowned for its prized edible birds’ nest .Then continue your journey back to Sandakan and transfer to either your hotel or airport (MH2047@1400 hrs / AK6097@1420 hrs), departs for KOTA KINABALU.

- Direct flight from Kuala Lumpur is possible. You may need to stay 1 night at the Sandakan town. Please let us know if you wish to book accommodation and confirmation of pick up time.
- Selingan Turtle Island has limited accommodation, it would be wise to book your tour in advance.

Important Notes :
SELINGAN ISLAND -- Sabah Park allowed only camera with unaided flash to take pictures of the Turtles. Video/Digital Video Camera is not allowed. Visitor is forbid to roam around the Selingan Island alone without permission from 1800 hrs – 0600 hrs.
SEPILOK ORANG UTAN -- Visitors are restricted to walkways at Sepilok. Some Orang Utan have become familiar with people but touching them is strongly discouraged, and while the apes are naturally shy and gentle, the more mischievous ones may try to grab your camera or hat, in which case you should call for a ranger as trying to wrestle the 200 pound apes may not be a good idea.

A non-refundable deposit in local currency equivalent to 50% of the tour is required on bookings, together the guest personal details. Confirmation of booking (in form of invoice) will be send as receipt of deposit. The balance of payment to be paid not later than 3 weeks prior to the commencing date of the tour.
